Webinar: Why We Shout 'OPA!' and Spit at Newborns: The Strange and Wonderful Rituals of Greeks

Speakers: Klea Kappos and Elaine Cladis

Description: The customs and traditions of the modern Greek home will come to life as we share the recipes and rituals that enhance Greek lives and uphold Greek heritage. We’ll explore why Easter eggs shine a glossy red, the significance of wedding crowns, the toasts and joys of daily Greek life, and soothing rituals of grief.

Klea Kappos and Elaine Cladis are beacons in the Greek community of Denver, having long served with women to advance philanthrophy through their leadership of the Philoptochos Ladies Societies of their respective parishes, The Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral and St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church. They have raised tens of thousands of dollars for good works in their communities and are models of Greek homemaking and traditions.
